Jayell Ranch Family Adventure Park puts several of the Smokies' favorite outdoor activities on a single property, which makes it one of the simplest ways to fill a day with a mixed-age group. The ranch covers about 250 acres of foothill country minutes from Pigeon Forge, yet it feels well removed from Parkway traffic. Families can split up, with teens on ATVs and younger children on the animal train, then regroup for lunch.
The one-hour horseback ride follows about four miles of trail with views toward Shields Mountain and Mount LeConte, and no riding experience is needed. The full zipline course links six lines between 400 and 3,500 feet long, including a 250-foot tunnel, while a three-line version takes about 80 minutes. Guided ATV tours run roughly 12 miles past an old moonshine still, and street-legal UTV rentals are available. The Exotic Animal Encounters ticket includes a train ride to about 200 birds and parrots, kangaroos and giant tortoises.
Walk-ins are welcome, though reserving ahead is wise in peak season, and the ranch says it can often add slots for groups. Arrive 45 minutes early for ziplines and ATV tours. Age and size rules vary: ziplines start at age 2 and 25 pounds, ATV drivers must be 12 and 54 inches tall with an adult, and riders 5 and older can take their own horse. Prices do not include tax, and combo packages save money on multiple activities. The ranch is open daily except Thanksgiving and Christmas.
