Lost Mine is a newer attraction on Teaster Lane that pairs an alpine mountain coaster with a themed mini golf course. It bills itself as the only mountain coaster in downtown Pigeon Forge, sitting between Christmas Tree Lane and Wears Valley Road, and its track climbs above the city for views over the Parkway and the Smokies. The whole place is dressed as an old mine, complete with bears causing trouble.
The coaster has four uphill lifts and four downhill runs, and a ride lasts 10 to 18 minutes depending on your speed. Each cart has its own brake, so riders choose between a fast run of up to 30 mph or a slow cruise to take in the theming and tunnels. A spacing system keeps carts at least 80 feet apart. The 18-hole mini golf course adds creek jumps, honey chutes, mine carts and a loop-the-loop, and the gem mine sells bags from $8.99.
Coaster riders must be at least 3 years old and 38 inches tall, and anyone under 54 inches rides with an adult. Each cart holds two people up to 375 pounds combined, or 330 pounds in wet conditions. Mini golf is $28.98 for adults, $24.98 for youth and $18.98 for cubs, and combo tickets save money. Nine holes are built to ADA standards and can be played twice. The coaster runs year-round, even in rain, closing only for nearby lightning.
