The Pioneer Pointe is an open-air concert ground set on more than 80 acres of rolling East Tennessee farmland in New Market, north of Sevierville along Dumplin Valley Road. Privately owned and run by a family, it describes itself as East Tennessee's premier large-scale outdoor music destination. The setting does a lot of the work: wide mountain views, natural landscaping and a spring-fed pond make a summer or fall show here feel far removed from the Parkway crowds.
Shows lean toward country, Southern rock and Americana, with national touring acts and regional favorites on the calendar through the warmer months and into fall. Seating is on the lawn, so guests bring their own chairs or blankets. Food trucks park onsite and a concession stand sells beer, malt beverages and non-alcoholic drinks, with valid ID required for alcohol. An onsite general store rounds things out, and the grounds also host weddings and private events.
Check the events calendar and buy tickets online before gates open; after that, tickets are sold at the booth for an extra five dollars, and a military discount is available onsite with ID. Children 10 and under are free. Outside coolers, food and drinks are not allowed, and only certified service animals may enter. Parking is free onsite, with accessible spaces near the entrances. Shows usually go on rain or shine, and rescheduled dates honor existing tickets.
