Just behind the busy Parkway, the Riverwalk Greenway follows the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River through the heart of Pigeon Forge. It is the city's main greenway, a paved path of roughly four miles that trades traffic noise for moving water and river views. For cabin guests it is an easy way to stretch your legs between attractions, walk off a pancake breakfast, or give kids on bikes a safe place to ride.
The route strings together several sections. A half-mile loop circles Patriot Park near The Old Mill, then the path heads north along the river past The Island, behind the LeConte Center and along Butler Street, and finishes with a one-mile loop around City Park behind the Community Center. Because the greenway passes under the overpasses, you never have to cross the Parkway. Lamps light the full length at night, and from November through February the Winterfest light displays make an evening walk especially pleasant.
Patriot Park at 186 Old Mill Avenue is the most convenient starting point, with free parking that also serves as the hub for the Pigeon Forge trolley. The path is flat and fully paved, so strollers and bikes do well, and it is open around the clock. You can also join at The Island or the Community Center. Plan about an hour and a half to walk the full length one way, and bring water in summer.
