Smoky Mountain Coffee & Creamery is the kind of small cafe that turns into a daily ritual on a Gatlinburg trip. It sits in Calhoun's Village on the Parkway, a little removed from the busiest sidewalks, and serves two things that go well together: freshly brewed coffee and hand-dipped ice cream. Founder Hannah Kol opened the shop in March 2024, inspired by her love of coffee shops and her family's history running ice cream parlors.
The coffee comes from Kaldi Gourmet Roasters, a family-owned roastery run by the Torello family, longtime friends of Hannah's, and it is roasted fresh every week. Expect espresso drinks and brewed coffee alongside a case of hand-dipped ice cream, and the shop is especially known for its affogato, a scoop of ice cream topped with a shot of espresso. Hannah first came to the Smokies at 16 to perform at Dollywood, and several staff members are performers at area shows, which adds to the friendly atmosphere.
Find the shop at 1004 Parkway, Suite 401, in Calhoun's Village. It opens at 8 AM daily and stays open until 6 PM Sunday through Thursday and 9 PM on Friday and Saturday, so it works for a morning coffee or an after-dinner scoop. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating on a leash. The shop also offers catering; call (865) 277-7449 or email for details.
