Yoder's Country Market is a family-owned Amish-style country market just off I-81 at Exit 23 in Bulls Gap, and it is the kind of place you plan a cabin grocery run around. The deli counter slices quality meats and cheeses to order, the shelves hold homemade breads, pickles, fried pies, and bulk and canned goods, and the made-to-order sandwiches have a loyal following.
The market describes itself simply as family owned by the Yoder's, and it shows in the details: outdoor picnic tables and gazebos for eating on site, a Saturday donut vendor in the parking lot selling what reviewers call the biggest donuts around, and staff who remember regulars. Seating is outdoors only, so it is a fair-weather lunch stop.
For our guests, Yoder's is the move on arrival day if you are coming down I-81. Load up on sandwich supplies, snacks, and breakfast goods before you turn toward the mountains, and you will eat well all week without a single chain grocery run.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday 8:30am to 5pm; Thursday and Friday 8:30am to 6pm; closed Sunday.
