Most big cabins in the Smokies don't allow pets, so a group that wants to bring the family dog has fewer choices. Only some Vantage cabins allow dogs, and these six are the closest to the Pigeon Forge Parkway, from 8 to 16 minutes away.

Every one sleeps 12 or more and has a hot tub and a game room or game loft. Drive times below are measured from each cabin to the Parkway without traffic.

Tips for Groups

  • Up to 2 dogs per stay, each 40 pounds or less. Cats and other animals aren't allowed, and a pet found in a cabin that isn't pet-friendly means a cleaning fee of up to $1,000 and the end of the stay.
  • Dogs left alone in the cabin must be crated, so bring a crate along with food, bowls, a leash and waste bags.
  • In the national park, dogs are allowed on only two trails, the Gatlinburg Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail, always on a leash. Campgrounds, picnic areas and roadsides are fine on a leash too.
