Gatlinburg Winery, which also goes by Gatlinburg Wine Cellar, is a family-owned tasting room in the middle of the downtown Parkway. Its calling card is cotton candy wine, the bottle it calls world famous, and the rest of the list leans sweet and playful. For guests who enjoy dessert-style wines, or who want a relaxed indoor stop between shops and attractions, it is one of the easiest tastings to fit into a downtown stroll.
Tastings are free every day, and staff walk guests through the lineup. Beyond the original Cotton Candy, look for Cotton Candy Blueberry and Cotton Candy Peach, Candy Apple, Pumpkin Pie, Key Lime Cheesecake and Huckleberry Holler, along with Blackberry, Mountaingria and a few stronger bottles such as Liquid Sin White. Everything is made in small batches, and bottles can be purchased in the shop or ordered online and shipped, which saves packing room for the drive home.
The 702 Parkway tasting room is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 9 PM and Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM. A second location at 531 Parkway keeps longer hours, 10 AM to 11 PM daily, which helps if you are out late. Plan to park once downtown and walk between tasting rooms. Tastings and purchases are for guests 21 and older with ID.
