Tennessee Homemade Wines is a sweet-wine specialist that has been part of the Smokies tasting scene since 2014. Rooted in family tradition, it makes its wines from local fruits for people who enjoy a rich, sweet flavor. The Gatlinburg tasting room sits right on the Parkway downtown, which makes it an easy stop between shops and dinner for adults who want to sample something local.
Tastings are free, and staff walk guests through more than a dozen wines and ciders, with suggestions on what to try and how to mix the wines into other drinks. Flavors include Great Niagara, blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, Proper Peach, white and Tennessee muscadine, cotton candy, hot cider wine and a peanut butter and jelly wine, plus an Experimental Series. A $5 VIP tasting lets you try as many flavors as you like and includes the winery's wine slushies.
The Gatlinburg tasting room is at 643 Parkway and is open daily from 10 AM to 11 PM. A second location in Sevierville, at 1645 Parkway, Suite 950, is open 10 AM to 9 PM Monday through Saturday and 10 AM to 7 PM on Sunday. Tastings are for guests 21 and over. Downtown Gatlinburg parking is in paid lots, so park once and walk. Call ahead on holidays.
