The Smokies pour more than moonshine now. The Parkway is lined with moonshine and whiskey tasting rooms, Gatlinburg has its own wine trail, and Townsend, near the national park, has a riverside distillery and a beer garden. For a group of adults, a tasting afternoon is an easy plan; for mixed ages, a few spots have playgrounds and kitchens.
These ten cover moonshine, bourbon and rye, craft beer, and wine and cider. We note which tastings are free, which need everyone to show ID, and where the kids can come along.

Tips for Groups
- Walk instead of drive downtown: Ole Smoky Moonshine Holler, Sugarlands Distilling Company and four of the five Gatlinburg Wine Trail stops are all on the Gatlinburg Parkway, so a group can park once and go on foot.
- Bring ID for everyone who plans to taste, even the obviously grown-up; Ole Smoky checks valid ID for all tastings.
- With kids along, head to Townsend: Company Distilling and Peaceful Side Social both have playgrounds and food, so the adults can taste while the kids play.
