Sharing a big cabin with the whole crew is the fun part of the trip, but anniversaries and honeymoons still deserve a night for two. The good news is that the Smokies do evenings well, with chef-driven dining rooms in Townsend and downtown Sevierville, a riverside steakhouse in Gatlinburg and sunset views a short drive into the park.
These picks are built for couples slipping away from the group for a few hours. Pair a sunset or a night walk with dinner, and you have the whole evening planned.

Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro
Set on a 38-acre wooded property in Townsend near Cades Cove, this bistro serves modern Appalachian, farm-to-table cooking from Chef Jeff Carter, with produce from its own gardens and a highly regarded wine list. It has been voted one of America's most romantic restaurants, and the patio fire pit, with s'mores and a glass of wine, is the right way to end the night.

Chef David Rule's restaurant in historic downtown Sevierville cooks around a large wood-burning hearth in the middle of the kitchen, turning local farm ingredients into modern Appalachian dishes like dry-aged steaks, rainbow trout and glazed duck. The menu is printed daily, and the dark room of brass, stone and wood makes it feel like an occasion.
Good to know: Open Tuesday-Saturday evenings; reserve on Resy or by phone.

Tips for Groups
- Pick the dinner first, then build around it. The Dancing Bear is in Townsend, The Appalachian and Seasons 101 are in downtown Sevierville, and The Peddler, SkyPark and Anakeesta are all in Gatlinburg, so you can stay in one town for the evening.
- For Morton Overlook, check that day's sunset time and leave early, since the lot fills. Your car needs a park parking tag to stay longer than 15 minutes ($5 daily in 2026).
- Trade nights with another couple in your group: one pair watches the kids with a movie and pizza at the cabin while the other goes out, then swap.
