Live music around the Smokies comes in two flavors. There are the big production shows on the Pigeon Forge Parkway, where you buy a seat and settle in for two hours, and there are the casual stages at restaurants, distilleries and breweries, where a band plays while your group eats, sips and talks. This list covers both.

We left out dinner theaters built around comedy or magic and kept to places where the music is the point. For a big group, the casual stages are the easiest win: no tickets, no seat maps, and room for kids and grandparents at the same table.

It is the simplest way for a big group to hear live music over lunch or dinner without planning around a showtime, and it sits right in the walkable part of downtown.

Drive times to the closest Vantage cabins are measured by road without traffic; allow extra time on the Parkway in peak season.

Tips for Groups

  • In Gatlinburg, Ole Red and the Ole Smoky Holler are both on the Parkway downtown, so a group can eat at one and catch bluegrass at the other without moving the cars.
  • For ticketed shows, buy every seat in one order so the group sits together, and pick a matinee if you have young kids or an early hike the next morning.
  • If you make the Knoxville trip, the Bijou Theatre a few blocks down Gay Street has hosted shows since 1909 and still books concerts, comedy and orchestra nights.
