Gatlinburg SkyLift Park

Gatlinburg SkyPark is a premier mountain-top scenic attraction in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, centered around the iconic yellow SkyLift chairlift that carries visitors 500 vertical feet up Crockett Mountain. The park's history dates back to 1953 when local innkeeper Rel Maples and Everett Kircher built the first chairlift in the South, which opened to the public in 1954. Today, it is home to the SkyBridge, the longest pedestrian cable suspension bridge in North America, stretching nearly 700 feet across a deep valley and standing 150 feet above the ground.

The park offers sweeping panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and downtown Gatlinburg. 5. The blue loop is the best hiking trail; skip the yellow loop as it goes straight down to a parking lot.

Family & Kids

Kids 5 and under are typically free. Strollers and other wheeled devices are not permitted at the park for safety reasons. Infants and toddlers should ride in the lap of their parent during the SkyLift ride, and it is recommended to use a purpose-designed child-carrying body harness. The boardwalk portion of the SkyTrail is wheelchair accessible, but the SkyBridge is not. Dogs are permitted on the SkyLift and throughout the park if leashed and held securely.
